According to Football London, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino turned down the chance to sign Ross Barkley from Everton earlier this year.
Barkley missed the first half of the 2017-18 campaign with a hamstring problem, but left Everton for Chelsea back in January.
The Blues paid just £15m for the 24-year-old as his contract at Goodison Park was due to expire at the end of the season.
According to Football London, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy made it clear to Pochettino that he would be prepared to pay £15m to sign the midfielder from the Toffees.
However, the Spurs boss turned down the chance to sign the England international as he felt that he had more pressing areas of concern.

Barkley has scored three times in 11 Premier League appearances for Chelsea this season, and his form has certainly been impressive.
