Sheff Utd sack manager Morgan'New information' makes role 'untenable'FA investigating Maddy Cusack deathGettyWHAT HAPPENED?
Morgan returned to his role last month after the club investigated a formal complaint made about his conduct in October, weeks after the death of Blades player Maddy Cusack. Now, just a week after the Football Association opened a fresh investigation into the 27-year-old's passing, United have dismissed the former Leicester City boss, saying the new information – which his management company claim relates to him being involved in a relationship with a player at a previous club – makes his position 'untenable'.

A club statement reads: "Sheffield United can confirm that Head Coach of Sheffield United Women's team, Jonathan Morgan, has departed the Club. Due to new information that has come to light within the last few days with regards to Mr Morgan's conduct before arriving at Bramall Lane, the Club has reached the conclusion that Mr Morgan's position is no longer tenable and his employment with the Club has been terminated. Luke Turner has agreed to take the role of interim Head Coach for the foreseeable future, including Sunday's Women's Championship fixture at Durham Women."

Her family said Cusack's spirit had been "broken" in the months before her passing and that the midfielder would"still be with us" had Morgan not been appointed.
WHAT NEXT?
On the pitch, United face Durham Women in the Championship on Sunday, where Luke Turner will take charge as interim head coach. Off the pitch, the FA's investigation will continue to gather pace after these developments.
