The result sees Wrexham go back into third and the last League Two automatic promotion spot, leapfrogging Crewe Alexandra who lost to Morecambe on Saturday. The Welsh side are still on course to achieve back to back promotions following their National League title win last season.

Wrexham, who have the best home form in the division but their away form is bettered by nine other teams, next face Morecambe at Mazuma Stadium next Saturday, followed by a home game against Harrogate Town three days later.
