Tottenham had a horror 2024/25 season in the Premier League after Postecoglou could only guide the Lilywhites to 11 wins in the 38-game season, leading the North London side to a 17th-placed finish. However, the same was not the case in the Europa League as Spurs ended up winning the competition, beating Manchester United in the final in Bilbao.

Despite becoming the only Spurs manager to win a trophy since Juande Ramos in 2008, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is considering sacking Postecoglou this summer, as he believes the club's Europa League glory does not make up for the horrific showing domestically. It has now been revealed how much of a financial hit the Spurs will take if they do swing the axe.

Postecoglou has a contract until the summer of 2027 with Tottenham, and The Telegraph has reported that the Australian's premature sacking could be in the region of £4 million ($5m). In addition, Postecoglou is also set to be paid out a £2 million ($3m) bonus for leading Spurs to their first trophy in 17 years.
