City boss Pep Guardiola has demanded January signings following a string of defensive injuries and now he appears to have got his man in the talented 20-year-old. The struggling Premier League defending champions have been shipping more goals this season than in campaigns gone by and perhaps Khusanov can help with that issue.

Khusanov, who joined Lens from Belarusian Premier League team Energetik-BGU in 2023, has already racked up 18 caps for Uzbekistan. He has also only played 31 times for the Ligue 1 outfit but looks set for a big-money move.

It remains to be seen if Khusanov has played his last game for Lens and if he makes his City debut next week, with games against Brentford and Ipswich Town to come in the Premier League.
