Georginio Wijnaldum has not always had the backing of Liverpool fans following his move to Anfield from Newcastle United in 2016.
The midfielder has had inconsistent spells on the pitch, but this season so far, the Dutchman has impressed.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has been testing Wijnaldum’s quality by using him in a number 6 role.
So far, the 27-year-old, who is rated at £27m by Transfermarkt and has scored eight goals in all competitions for the Reds in 96 outings, has started every one of the team’s four Premier League matches, all of which they have won.
On Sunday, Wijnaldum was in action for his country as the Netherlands took on world champions France in a Nations League clash.
The result did not go to plan for Ronald Koeman and his side as they lost 2-1, with Olivier Giroud netting the winner.
